Information on Possession and Acquisition Permits (PPA)
As part of the sale of firearms, ammunition and magazines, we are required by law to verify the validity of the Possession and Acquisition Permit (PAL) for all transactions. It is your responsibility to always have your PAL in your possession when ordering these products, whether in-store or online.
To facilitate and speed up the verification process for your online purchases, we offer you the option of storing your PPA information securely. This eliminates the need to provide them for every transaction. However, this registration is not mandatory: you can choose to provide your PAL with every purchase of firearms, ammunition or magazines if you prefer.
In store, it is mandatory to present your PPA when purchasing a firearm, ammunition or magazine. In accordance with the law, if you do not present your PAL, we will be obliged to refuse the sale, even if we have your information recorded in our system.
In the case of online purchases, verification of your PAL may take up to 3 working days for online orders, but we always do our utmost to confirm its validity and process your order as quickly as possible. In addition, we reserve the right to contact you by telephone if any information needs to be rectified due to an invalidity or error on your PAL. If the situation cannot be corrected, we also reserve the right to cancel your order entirely and inform you by e-mail.
We do not keep any physical or digital copies of the APP, unless required by law. The information recorded is limited to :
Confirmation that the APP has been verified,
Date and time of verification,
Verification reference number (if applicable).
All data collected is treated with a high level of security and is never shared with third parties. It is only used to ensure legal compliance of sales.
You may withdraw your consent at any time and request the removal of your information from PPA. To do so, you can contact us by e-mail, by telephone (contact details available at the bottom of the form) or directly in store. We will process your request as quickly as possible.
3- How we collect your personal information
Pavillon Chasse et Pêche collects your Personal Information primarily from you, but also from third parties or through Cookies (as defined below) or Pixels (as defined below).
- At your side
You provide us with Personal Information directly, in particular when you use our services, when you communicate with us or when you click on an advertisement that we have placed on a third-party Web site (e.g. Google, Facebook, etc.).
- With a third party
We may also collect Personal Information from third parties or accessible public records as permitted by law or if we have obtained the necessary consent.
- Chat tool
In connection with the use of the chat tool, Pavillon Chasse et Pêche offers you online services through an advisor who may, if necessary, request and collect information about you. This information establishes your identity and also allows you to benefit from the services available through this tool that are best suited to your needs.
- The Witnesses
Cookies are small data files that are commonly stored on your device when you use websites and online services (“Cookies”). They are used for the efficient operation of websites and may provide information and help personalize services. Pavillon Chasse et Pêche collects the Personal Information provided by Cookies.
- Pixels
Web beacons are tiny images we can place in our web pages or e-mails. They can be used, for example, to anonymously obtain the number of times a particular page has been visited by an Internet user (“Pixels”). As their name suggests, Pixels are invisible, and any part of our Site, including the advertising messages displayed on it, may contain Pixels. Unlike Cookies, Pixels are not placed on your device.
- Use for research and development
Information obtained through the use of Cookies or Pixels may also be used for research and development purposes and to improve your experience within our Site. In such cases, the information is anonymized and used primarily for statistical purposes. However, we would like to reassure you that no data that could identify you will be used. As mentioned above, this data is anonymized and will be used for statistical and research purposes.
4- DETAILS OF DATA COLLECTION, USE AND COMMUNICATION ON THE SITE
As mentioned in the previous section, we may use various tools to improve your Web experience and better understand our customers’ behavior, particularly in connection with our marketing strategies. The following section is intended to give you more information about our use of these tools.
Indicators and Pixels
By using Cookies and Pixels, we are able to offer you advertising that better meets your needs, since it is targeted according to your interests. When you visit our Site, Cookies and Pixels tell us, among other things, which pages you are interested in, so that we can display advertising that matches your interests.
These technologies do not contain any personally identifiable information. They may, however, contain a unique identifier necessary for advertising re-targeting. When you click on one of these ads, we may also track the response rate of the campaign.
Pavillon Chasse et Pêche uses different types of Witnesses:
- Performance and functionality cookies: These cookies are not essential to the provision of our services. They help personalize and improve the user experience. For example, they may remember your preferences so you don’t have to re-enter information more than once, or remember your login details so you don’t have to re-enter them each time you use our services. They enable us to understand your behavior in order to improve our services and our Site.
- Cookies for advertising purposes: These Cookies are not essential to the provision of our services. They use information about your visit to the site, such as pages viewed or response to advertisements, to help us provide the best user experience for you.
- Security Cookies: These help protect your accounts from unauthorized users. They help maintain session integrity and provide enhanced security, blocking unauthorized attempts to access your account.
Please note that the use of Cookies only identifies you as a user and does not recognize you by your name or address.
Indicator deactivation
It is possible to prevent the Site’s personalization functions by disabling Cookies on your browser. You can do this by changing the settings on your browser or mobile device. However, if you choose to refuse Cookies, some pages or sections of our Site may not display correctly or some features may not be available.
Do other sites have access to Cookies when you browse our Site?
We may sometimes use third-party service providers. When you access our Site, either directly or through an advertisement that redirects you to our Site, a Cookie is automatically created on your computer or mobile device. At that time, a Web analysis tool (for example, Google Analytics and Amplitude) and possibly external advertising servers have access to this Cookie, which enables us to offer you a better experience on our Site or, in some cases, to track your activity in order to promote some of our products. Although a code in the Cookie identifies you as a user, it does not recognize you by name or address.
Our service providers may also need to collect your IP address or mobile device identifier, if applicable, when you visit a site. This information may be transmitted to and stored on servers located in Canada or elsewhere. Pavillon Chasse et Pêche does not combine any information collected by these third parties with information we hold about you. Please be aware, however, that some suppliers may be required to communicate the data they collect to third parties in the event of a legal obligation or if they wish to entrust the processing of certain data to third parties. No information that would enable these suppliers to identify you is transmitted to them.
Please note that third-party service providers have their own Cookies and privacy policies.
Using Google Analytics
Pavillon Chasse et Pêche uses Google Analytics, which is provided by Google Inc (Google) to analyze the browsing behavior of visitors to the site, which are tools for analyzing website traffic and use.
The information collected by Google Analytics is used to analyze the use of our Site and to produce statistical reports on visitor activity. You can find out more about Google Analytics here.
Targeted advertising
Pavillon Chasse et Pêche also works with third-party advertising companies, such as Facebook, Google Ads and TRFFK, which collect and use information about your visits to our Site in order to present you with advertising that may be of interest to you. Pavillon Chasse et Pêche does not provide any information that would allow these advertising companies to identify you.
Please note that our advertising partners and other third parties may also install Cookies or Pixels when you click on their advertisements or links to their websites or services on our Site. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party Web sites or third-party advertising providers.
You can deactivate Google Analytics during your browsing by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser or computer tool, as well as your ad settings. It is possible to refuse to share your information with these third parties by installing an add-on and thus refuse to receive targeted advertising by centers of interest.
Pavillon Chasse et Pêche also uses Facebook’s Custom Audience feature to target advertising to the interests of current and potential customers. To unsubscribe from Facebook’s personalized audience feature, please follow this procedure.
Please note that even if you choose not to receive advertisements targeted to your interests, it will still be possible to see advertisements from Pavillon Chasse et Pêche. In this case, they will simply not be adapted to your actual needs and may be displayed more frequently.
Social media features
Our services include social media features such as the Facebook share button or interactive mini-programs that run on our Site. If you use these features, they collect your IP address, the page you visit on our Site and create a Cookie to enable these features to function properly. These features may be hosted by a third party or directly on our Site. Your interaction with these features is governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the feature and not by this Policy.
Links to other websites
It is important to understand that this Policy does not apply to other third-party Web sites that may be accessed through links on our Site. We are not responsible for these third-party sites, their content or access to them. As a result, any Personal Information you transmit to such sites is subject to their privacy policies. It is your responsibility to read their privacy policies to ensure the protection of your Personal Information.
